Motions Proposed for the Upcoming Season
I would like to propose a motion regarding the team awards. Specifically, I move that only the first-place team receive a trophy, rather than the top two teams. Under this proposal, the second-place team would instead receive a medallion.
– Submitted by Lori Perry
I would like to submit the following motion and addendum regarding the establishment of a new “Triple Threat” format for your consideration.
Motion: “Triple Threat” Format Establishment
– Team Structure: A three-person team with two alternates.
– Match Format: 11 total matches each week, broken down as follows:
– Each player plays singles 8-ball.
– Two players play scotch doubles 8-ball.
– The remaining player plays the final match of 10-ball.
– Registration & Capacity: $280 per team, with a maximum capacity of 8 teams.
– Season Timeline: An 8-week summer season starting in May and concluding before the WCC (with the option to expand the schedule if the format proves popular).
– Playoffs: The top 4 teams will advance to the playoffs.
Addendum to Motion
In the event this format garners increased interest during or after its inaugural season, team fees will be adjusted upward in order to finance stipends to send the winning team to Las Vegas to compete in the BCA Nationals.
– Submitted by Frankie Galvez
I would like to propose a motion regarding the playoff format for the upcoming Fall season. Instead of the current 8-team format, I suggest that only the top three teams and one wild card team advance to the playoffs.
This change would allow more teams the opportunity to compete for a spot while also freeing up the necessary time to host a summer season.
– Submitted by Lori Perry
I would like to propose a motion to set the 8-ball team registration fee to $350 per team for both the Fall and Spring seasons, instead of the current structure of $300 for Fall and $350 for Spring.
– Submitted by Lori Perry
I would like to propose a motion to adjust the schedule for the Bryan Haneiwich Memorial Hi-Lo qualifier. Specifically, I move to schedule this event after the team competitions, but before the Open Individuals and Women’s qualifiers.
Additionally, I propose that once a player qualifies in the Hi-Lo, they must participate in that event and will be ineligible to play in either the Women’s or Open Individuals.
– Submitted by John Clark
I would like to propose a motion regarding how forfeits are counted.
If a team or player receives a forfeit during the season, it should still count toward their total matches played. However, it should not count toward the individual percentage for WCC qualifiers. Because these matches are not actually played, they do not reflect in our Fargo ratings and are not a true evaluation of skill.
– Submitted by Frankie Galvez
I would like to submit a motion to increase the price of the West Coast Challenge qualifiers in Hi-Lo, Open Individuals, & women’s from $15 to $20.
The entry fee has not been raised in many years, and this adjustment will help support the finances required to stipend players room night.
